TY DONALDSON (producer, line producer) is an accomplished producer, director, actor and graphic designer with over 30 years of experience in film and theatre. A graduate of Bard College, N.Y., he founded Buddha-Cowboy Productions, a multi-media company dedicated to creating projects that elevate the human spirit through thought-provoking storytelling.  Growing up on film sets—his mother a make-up artist and his father a special mechanical engineer for Jim Henson on films like “The Dark Crystal,” and “Labyrinth,”—Ty’s passion for the industry began early.

As a producer, Ty has delivered a range of acclaimed indie films. His most recent project, “Los Vampires” earned him a Producer’s Guild mark (p.g.a.). A moderate low-budget SAG-Aftra project with Diversity casting, written and directed by Craig Mitchell and starring Henry Ian Cusick, Thomas Kretschmann, Oscar Nunez, Jorge Diaz and Daniela Couso; the feature was filmed entirely on a sound stage in California in 15 days.  

“RIFT,” an ultra, low-budget SAG-Aftra project was filmed in six (6) days, during Covid, with Covid Protocols and is now streaming on Paramount+, tubi and other VOD services. The historical epic “Soldier of God,” won Best Feature at the Stratford-Upon-Avon International Film Festival and was an official selection at the Berkeley Video & Film Festival and Deep Ellum Film Festival. He produced the action dramedy “FBI Guys,” which earned Best Drama at the Independent Television Festival, and the psychological thriller “RewinD,” a Stratford-Upon-Avon and Los Angeles International Short Film Festival selection.  Ty’s short film, “Little Bart Needs a Job!,” in which he also starred, was an official selection at the San Antonio Underground Film Festival and the International Festival of Cinema and Technology, touring New York, Toronto, and Sydney. Additional credits include “Bunny Whipped,” starring Joey Lauren Adams and Laz Alonso, and “Bitter Brew,” a TV spec pilot featuring David Moscow and Frank Caliendo.   He also served as a consulting producer on “Getting Ed Laid,” by Deborah Pearl, starring Ed Asner and Jean Smart; and, was the Choreography Coordinator on “Dance with Me,” Starring Vanessa Williams, Cheyanne, and Kris Kristofferson and coordinating over 250 dancers. 

He is a member of SAG-AFTRA (and on the Indie Outreach Committee), IndieLoop (GA), and the Dekalb County Film Advisory Board (GA).
